Iceland has been in the news over the past few months because of another 'Icelandic eruption'. The one in 2010 caused travel chaos. What can we expect in the future?

About our speaker

Professor Hazel Rymer is a British volcanologist and Pro-Vice Chancellor at the Open University. Her research investigates how active volcanoes affect their environment and impact global climate change, using this research to inform evacuation strategies and crop cultivation. She leads the citizen science project Earth Watch and has used this to engage members of the public in earth monitoring.

Booking for in-person attendance is required.

  • Monday night lectures are held in person in the Ondaatje Theatre and the bar will be open in the Map Room before and after the lecture. Please be advised all payments are card only.
