MRes or PhD students researching anything related to rural geographies, including food, farming, climate, sustainability, culture, digital, arts, renewable energy, communities, landscapes, livelihoods, policy, health, mobility (transport), or methods, are invited to join the Rural Geography Research Group for its first relaxed, friendly, early morning coffee meeting.

Participants can expect a light-touch, informal space for postgraduates to connect, discuss their projects, share small wins, and support one another.

There will be no presentations and no pressure - simply an opportunity for conversation. The theme for the first meeting is ‘What are you working on? Challenges, wins, and introductions’.

Attendees will spend the hour:

  • Meeting other rural geographers.
  • Sharing what we’re working on (in one-two minutes).
  • Talking about what helps us stay motivated.
  • Gathering ideas on what you want future sessions to look like.
