Shackleton and West Somerset: uncovering the explorer's ties to the South West - Jeff Cox

This talk is inspired by a recent discovery made by Jeff Cox when he came across a tantalising local newspaper report from 1923, which described how a wealthy businessman had shown an audience in Watchet a rare film capturing Shackleton's exploration vessel being crushed by the Antarctic ice in 1915.

Research led him to discover two men from West Somerset who played crucial roles in Shackleton's explorations in Antarctica.
