Newly liberated from the constraints of office, the iconic Irish prime minister joins us to reveal the story of his life in politics with unusual honesty and frankness.

Leo Varadkar was an unlikely Taoiseach – the youngest (38) on taking office in 2017, the first Taoiseach to be gay, and the first Taoiseach of colour. Equally unlikely was his decision to bow out of politics in his mid-forties.

Now he joins How To Academy with a behind-the-scenes look at the formation and evolution of his life in politics. He will share insights into experiences that only a Taoiseach could have – speaking frankly with the Pope about the legacy of church abuses, connecting with Barack Obama over both being the ‘tall, dark guy with the funny name’, navigating major challenges such as the Covid pandemic and the fallout from Brexit.

And he will talk to us honestly about the costs that go with the immense privilege of holding high office.
