In this session, Rachel Hawke will explore how an understanding of metacognition for staff and students can help to improve geography revision so that it is more effective. Using strategies trialled at both KS3 and GCSE, you will leave the session with ideas that you can implement in your own setting.
About the speaker
Rachel Hawke is a secondary school Head of Geography in Devon and is also a lead subject mentor for geography at a SCITT provider. She is a Chartered Geographer and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, as well as co-chair of the Exeter Geographical Association branch.
