Mark has over 20 years of experience in strategic communications. From Arctic Alaska to international Geneva, he has helped community and advocacy groups, elected officials and scientific coalitions improve their communications to reach their goals. Together, their work has helped shape economic, social and environmental policy at local, statewide and national levels in the US and internationally.
After earning his degree in journalism and mass communication, Mark followed his passion for the outdoors, travelling, exploring, guiding and teaching. He landed in Alaska, where the ability to influence high-stakes debates slowly drew him out of the wilderness and into political and advocacy work in the state capital.
Curiosity led him to Geneva in 2014 where he worked for international and non-profit organisations focused on conservation and sustainable development. He currently works as a communications consultant and is training to be an International Mountain Leader.
