Mark Hutchings is a former British Army officer and graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Over a 15-year military career, including service with the 10th Gurkha Rifles and the Royal Green Jackets, he led teams in some of the world’s most demanding environments, from mountain warfare to counter-insurgency operations.
His experience in leadership development and training laid the foundations for a career devoted to building high-performance teams capable of functioning under extreme pressure.
Following his military service, Mark has dedicated over 25 years to leading global operations in security, risk management, crisis response, and remote medical support. He has overseen complex missions across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Arctic, managing security, medical evacuations, logistics, and disaster response in some of the world’s most challenging and volatile regions.
His work centres on helping organisations and teams perform effectively amid uncertainty, quickly adapting to changing risk environments.
Mark is the founder of D3R Disaster Risk Response, a UK-based global humanitarian initiative that offers rapid-deployment capabilities and intelligence-led disaster responses. D3R’s mission reflects his belief that courage, clarity, and collaboration are the cornerstones of outstanding leadership.
Building on his experience in leadership and crisis operations, Mark now helps leaders and teams strengthen their decision-making, resilience, and collective performance in the face of challenge and change.
