Richard Harpham FRGS runs Canoe Trail, with his wife Ash, a watersports and adventure business which was voted one of the ‘Top 52 Things To Do in the World’ by Lonely Planet and Top 3 UK destinations by Red Bull Magazine.
Qualified coach, inspirational speaker, author and expedition guide they write for many magazines, including Bushcraft & Survival Skills (of which Rich was the former editor), Paddler, Huffington Post and National Geographic Kids and featured on BBC1.
As renown adventurers they have covered 14,500 miles of wilderness expeditions by ski, bike, kayak, canoe and SUP including canoeing the Yukon, sea kayaking to Alaska, and even kayaking the channel 3 times! Together they paddled over 100 different UK locations by canoe, kayak and SUP and have channelled their passion into the book.
Life long paddler, Rich competes in races, rafting, kayak surfing and became a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, inspirational speaker, canoe and sea kayak leader and a Paddle UK course provider.
Ash is an expert SUP coach and experienced canoe leader with a passion for journeying in remote locations often accompanied by their trusty dogs. They founded a social enterprise and London 2012 Inspire Mark Project, Inspired Life, pioneering well-being resources.
