Exhibitors
Meet our Explore exhibitors for 2024, who will generously share valuable advice and insights to enhance your next expedition.
Firepot Food
Firepot dehydrated expedition meals are lightweight, compact and home-cooked in our Dorset kitchen using natural ingredients, with no added chemicals or preservatives. Our filling meals bring real flavour to remote places: just add water and eat from the pouch to refuel, wherever you find yourself, whatever your challenge. Our multi-award-winning range includes lactose-free, vegan and gluten-free meals, compostable packaging, and extra-large portion sizes. And in case you're wondering what our meals taste like, we are proud to be the official caterers for Explore 2024.
Endeavour Medical
Endeavour Medical is passionate about delivering quality expedition medicine training that is directly transferrable to real-life situations. Our team is composed of professionals with decades of experience in Leadership, Remote and Global Health for extreme environments including mountain, jungle, polar and desert. Together we offer more than medical knowledge; we explore team dynamics, cultural nuances, and human and environmental factors that enable you to adapt to each unique situation. Through scenario-based training, Endeavour Medical can offer you the knowledge, skills and confidence to approach medical situations in remote locations.
Flaming Phoenix
Flaming Phoenix supplies unique flapjacks made specifically for extreme expedition enthusiasts. Phoenix Bars are 552-calorie, compact, lightweight, high-carb (66 grams), tasty, easy-to-eat and easy-to-digest. Our bespoke flapjacks can also be mixed with water to form a nutritious porridge, and the bar's coconut oil base means it doesn't freeze easily at low temperatures. Made in the UK and with a 1-year shelf-life, Phoenix Bars are nutritionally formulated to promote energy and overall health and to optimise acclimatation and performance at altitude, being high in iron, manganese, phosphorus, and vitamins E, B1 and B7.
Space Health Research
Space Health Research (SHR) provide analogue missions that simulate space exploration in comparable natural environments: geographically remote, with limited resources, and in challenging conditions. Missions usually take place on an uninhabited Scottish island, but any remote environment (e.g. the Polar regions) can be used. SHR work with universities, companies, and space agencies (e.g. NASA, ESA) to research how space tech and science can benefit space exploration and life on Earth. SHR also provide educational activities via their Space Exploration Experience Programme (SEEP), teaching 'space exploration skills' as tested during astronaut selection.

BINCO
Biodiversity Inventory for Conservation (BINCO) is a non-profit consortium of field biologists and scientists that harnesses the dedication of young researchers, guided by seasoned experts, to drive conservation efforts through the collection of vital biodiversity data. Despite its critical importance, the acquisition of accurate and available primary data on species distribution often remains a weak point in conservation projects and policy decisions, which undermines effective habitat conservation and species protection. BINCO focuses on biodiversity assessment and monitoring through four key areas: 1) conducting Biodiversity Express Surveys (BES) in underexplored and threatened regions, 2) standardising biodiversity assessment protocols to validate data across larger scales, 3) ensuring free and open access to biodiversity data to support informed conservation decisions, and 4) educating and building capacity to enhance conservation efforts.
