Iona is a member of the Plas Y Brenin instructional team, predominantly working in the mountaineering department. Here she trains and assesses mountain leaders, teaches rock climbing, scrambling and winter skills. She is also a freelance instructor and expedition leader, enabling her to work with a very broad range of clients in the UK and further afield.
During the winter she endeavours to spend as much time on ski mountaineering trips and expeditions as possible. More recently this has involved trips to Northern Sweden and Lyngen, seeking adventure closer to home. The summer months bring trail running, climbing and bikepacking.
Having learnt to mountain bike a few years ago, Iona has enjoyed the challenge of learning a new activity and combining it with her love of journeying.
