On the back of climbing and cultural expeditions to Nepal, Peru and the European Alps, Paul studied documentary photography under the tutelage of Magnum photographer, David Hurn.
His portfolio portraits of British Explorers led him to join expeditions to Mongolia, India, Kamchatka, Niger and Indonesia with Tim Severin and Robin Hanbury-Tenison.
Paul has contributed to many publications including Sunday Times, Geo, Wanderlust and Animan. He is a recipient of the RGS Cherry Kearton Medal and a regular assignment photographer for the National Trust and Yorkshire Dales National Park, and past expedition photographer for Earthwatch and Coral Cay Conservation across Africa, South America and South Pacific.
