Sarah’s academic background is in sustainability, economics and conflict. For the last two years she’s worked as a humanitarian researcher in conflict zones- she’s lived in D.R.C., Afghanistan, C.A.R. and Ukraine.

She’s also an aspiring journalist: she’s written for the Organisation for World Peace, and travelled to Cameroon with Alexander McMaster to learn about artisanal fishing and marine biodiversity. Their article based on this is available in the June issue of Geographical Magazine. Since returning to the UK in June, Sarah has been touring the country by bicycle while following more news stories.

Whether she’s writing for the UN or for the general public, Sarah wants her readers to understand the day-to-day life of communities which lie behind global current affairs headlines.
