Professional Pathway to Chartered Geographer (Analysis Function)

The Analysis Function Professional Pathway is open to those who are:

  • Working in a public sector role
  • A member of the GGP
  • Working in a role where the majority the of the role meets GGP Core Skills and Specialist Skills set out in the GGP Career Framework:
    • Geographic Adviser
    • Geographic Analyst
    • Geographic Information Technician
    • Geographic Technologist

Roles can be made up of a range of skills set out in the descriptions, along with other skills.

How to apply

If you meet these criteria and wish to apply for Chartered Geographer Analysis Function you will need to:

  • Demonstrate how current role meets core and specialist skills set out in the Analysis Function roles.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development, meeting the skills and competencies across the Framework of Competencies, and building the skills of Analysis Function roles.

Your application will be reviewed by the Professional team and then sent to the GGP for verification.

If your application to join the Professional Pathway to Chartered Geographer Analysis Function is declined you will still be able to join the Professional Pathway to Chartered Geographer, if you are eligible.
