Geographies of MENA Research Group conference session sponsorship
The Geographies of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA-GEOG) Research Group is pleased to extend an invitation to sponsor sessions at the next Annual International Conference.
This year's conference, chaired by Professor Peter Hopkins (Newcastle University, UK), will be on the theme of Geographies of inequalities: toward just places It will take place in London at the Society and Imperial College London, and online, from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September 2026.
The deadline for the session proposal submission is 19 February 2026.
Being a newly established Research Group, we are interested in sponsoring sessions which directly address the theme of this year's conference, Geographies of inequalities: toward just places, through critical engagement with geographies of the Middle East and North Africa in particular (political ecologies, space and power, genocide and war, resource politics, coloniality/modernity, citizenship, territoriality, infrastructure politics, knowledge production).
We are happy to sponsor sessions that are outside of the conference theme, and welcome sessions that are critical, radical and attuned to the emerging issues of our region.
