Geographical Association Lectures
Queen's University Belfast delivers support for local A Level students in partnership with the Geographical Association (GA). The GA runs an annual series of seven hybrid evening talks for teachers and their pupils. The talks are designed to support the delivery of CCEA's GCE / A-level specification. Homework Clubs Programme
Queen's University Belfast currently assists 16 Community/Youth Centres and Schools across Belfast which run weekly homework club sessions, based mainly in areas educational underachievement. These clubs are supported by Queen’s student volunteers, who provide homework support to children and young people, help them to improve their study skills, build confidence and raise their aspirations about further/higher education. Pathway Opportunity Programme
Queen’s University Belfast supports widening participation through its pathway opportunity programme. This programme is designed to give a taste of what studying geography and other allied subjects might be like at university and involves a series of workshops and events, coursework and a week long summer school from January of year 13 through December of year 14. Students who complete the programme will be eligible to receive a £1000 bursary, a guaranteed conditional offer, and a potential grade reduction on your chosen course. Find out more
Scholarships, funding and opportunities
Queen’s University Belfast offers GB scholarships for all students from England, Scotland, Wales, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. The University will pay GB students £2,500 towards Queen's Accommodation (or alternative contracted provider) in the first year of study. GB students will also receive a sum of £500 in the first year of study to support flights and costs associated with moving to Belfast.
