GeoHub Liverpool
The University of Liverpool has a range of online learning materials for Geoscience students and teachers. This includes videos on various themes around geography, environmental science and geology, careers advice and other resources. Find out more
Events and lectures
The University of Liverpool offers many events across their departments specific to many age groups. They also organise faculty-wide events each year that bring together staff and students across all schools to provide exciting activities for all ages. Examples include:
- Year 12 STEM experience days
- Year 9 STEM taster days
- Year 6 STEM inward days
- Science Jamboree
- Herdman Symposium
Visits to and from schools
The University of Liverpool are keen to work with schools on geography outreach, and may be able to visit your school to talk about the choice to go to university, and careers in Geography and Planning, and Environmental Sciences. Placement Opportunity - Teaching Geography
Placement Opportunity - Teaching Geography is designed to give students experience teaching geography to secondary school pupils, via the mentoring of A-level students Birkenhead Sixth Form College, St. Edward’s College and St. Hilda’s CE High School and through the delivery of a field and/or class-based learning activity. To support these activities training is provided on campus by a teaching practitioner in Semester 1 (September-January) in: geography at key stages 3-5, becoming a teaching professional, learning and teaching strategies, assessment for learning, fieldwork activities, lesson planning and delivery. Mentoring is undertaken in partner schools and colleges in Semester 2 (February-May).
