Discover Manchester: Geography (June 2026 – date tbc)
The University of Manchester Discover Day invites Y12 students to come to campus to learn what it’s like to study Geography at University. Students will receive an introduction to the University by experienced staff members and hear about the subject and courses in more detail from top academics. They will attend taster lectures and workshops and chat to undergraduate students and alumni. There will also be an opportunity to go on a tour of the campus. The date is not confirmed for 2026 but this will be updated in the new year.
On campus
If you are interested in bringing your students to visit the Geography department, please contact hums-outreach@manchester.ac.uk with your request. Please note that unfortunately they will not be able to facilitate all requests. Non-subject specific events and activities can be found on their website.
In school talks
Many of their academic staff make a commitment to visit schools and colleges to talk about their work, at all levels, either as part of specific project, or in relation to their undergraduate recruitment. If you are interested in connecting with a member of academic staff about a school visit or talk, please contact hums-outreach@manchester.ac.uk.
