About Helen
Helen is a secondary geography teacher with almost 30 years’ experience in UK schools. She holds a Master of Arts in Education and serves as an External Subject Expert for Ofqual. In 2008, she founded Geography Geek, a website where she shares resources with teachers around the world. Helen is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Chartered Geographer and a recipient of the RGS Award for Excellence in Teaching Geography at Secondary Level.
Alongside her teaching career, Helen has worked for over two decades as an Educational Consultant for the BBC, creating online, video, and interactive content for BBC Bitesize in the UK and BBC Studios in the US. She also develops educational materials and digital content for Microsoft. Helen is an author for Cambridge University Press and has co-authored current GCSE, IGCSE and A Level geography textbooks and revision guides, as well as the Cambridge Lower Secondary Humanities Digital Teacher's Resource.

What can Helen offer to schools?
Helen offers a wide range of support for secondary schools, with a particular emphasis on A Level Geography (especially the AQA specification). She brings specialist expertise in fieldwork design, NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) support, and curriculum development, helping departments to strengthen both their teaching and student outcomes.
A Level Geography (AQA focus)
