We welcome all universities that feature a geography, or relevant, degree course as part of their academic teaching to be involved in the Ambassador scheme.
The Ambassador scheme has direct benefits for students who become part of the programme. Through developing their presentation, organisational and interpersonal skills, the role has a positive impact on the understanding of, and enthusiasm for, geography in the classroom.
In addition to this, the Ambassador scheme provides universities with a network of students who work with local schools and develop transferable skills to work in similar roles, such as speakers at university open days. We are keen to explore further how the Ambassador scheme can continue to provide additional benefits to universities through the network of students that we are building. Please do contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org to share your thoughts on this.
Prospective ambassadors are asked to complete an application form before being invited to a training session. Attendees will then be set pre-training activities to complete, to make best use of the training session. All training sessions run virtually and are two hours long.
To ensure that we can reach as many students as possible, we are asking you to commit to signing up 20 students to fill the training slot you choose. If you don’t think you can do this on your own, we can organise a joint session with another institution.
Once you’ve confirmed your chosen training date, you will be sent across further information to distribute to students, including a flyer about the training session and a link to the application form.
You can access the information about available dates and to organise a training session for your students by clicking on the link below.

Schools can request ambassador visits both virtually and in person, although there is a renewed focus on connecting local schools with universities, especially those who have not yet engaged with the Ambassador scheme. Ambassadors will also be encouraged to make contact with local schools too.
We would welcome the opportunity to work directly with you too if there are schools your department/institution particularly would like to reach and/or are parts of other outreach or widening participation work.
In addition to this, we run young people-facing events, promoting geography at university and geography within careers. If you would be interested in facilitating this type of event at your university, please do get in contact with us either by emailing email@example.com or calling us on 020 7591 3054.
By placing a booking, you are permitting us to store and use your (and any other attendees) details in order to fulfil the booking.
We will not use your details for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
