Tropical Cyclones are a natural phenomenon which occur in several places around the world including the Arabian Sea. Climate change has affected these resulting in less predicable weather patterns, tropical cyclones making landfall in different places and increased risk of damage.
It is important therefore to understand the causes and effects of cyclones as well as how people are responding in both the short in long term in places which do not always experience these events.
This unit comprises of two lessons:
- Tropical cyclone case study
- Sustainable solutions debate
They have been designed to support GCSE curriculum content as well as develop skills such as debating and synthesising information.
