For postgraduates studying geography or a related discipline, there is now a new space to connect and access advice as the Society launches a postgraduate community group on LinkedIn.
The Royal Geographical Society postgraduate community group will bring together postgraduates from across the UK and beyond, providing a dedicated place to connect with peers, share ideas, and learn about opportunities relevant to postgraduate study and early career development.
We know that postgraduate geographers today are facing unique challenges and that life as a postgraduate can be isolated. By creating this group, we hope to offer a supportive, professional community where postgraduates and early-career geographers can network, share experiences and stay informed and connected.Ed Armston-Sheret, coordinator of the Society’s postgraduate community
Whether studying for a master's degree, undertaking doctoral research or exploring next career steps, the group aims to support students through their postgraduate journey.
Group members will be able to:
- Connect with fellow geography postgraduates
- Share experiences, advice and opportunities
- Discuss research, fieldwork and professional development
- Hear about relevant events, grants, jobs and training opportunities
- Build networks across the geographical community
We're excited to welcome new members and help foster a supportive and inclusive community for the next generation of geographers. Please help us spread the word and share with anyone you think might be interested in joining!
