We are delighted to announce that the provisional programme for this year’s Annual International Conference, taking place at the Society, Imperial College London and online, has now been published. Over 600 sessions are planned across four days – the highest number ever! With such a variety of sessions to attend, there is something for everyone.
The programme includes our series of Chair’s events, convened by Professor Peter Hopkins in his role as Chair of Conference, and linked to his chosen theme of Geographies of inequalities: towards just places.
The Chair's events programme features an opening keynote by Professor Susan Smith, alongside a 'fireside chat' with Professor Jason Arday and panel discussions on the geographies of disability, challenging racism and racial inequalities, queer and feminist perspectives toward just geographies, migrant justice and border abolition; and how to generate thinking environments.
We are also delighted to welcome sponsored lectures by leading journals to the conference, including Antipode, Children's Geographies, Dialogues in Human Geography, Dialogues in Urban Research and Quantitative Methods, Geo: Geography and Environment, Geoforum, The Geographical Journal, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Journal of Geography and Higher Education, Journal of Historical Geography, Political Geography, Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography, Social and Cultural Geography, Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers and Urban Studies Journal. Find out more about speakers and topics here.
These lectures sit alongside keynotes sponsored by our Digital Geography, Economic Geography, Gender and Feminist Geographies and Transport Geography Research Groups, along with walking tours, film screenings, exhibitions, workshops, and more.
It's going to be another fantastic conference, we hope you're looking forward to it as much as we are.
Registration to attend is open, with discounted early bird rates available until Friday 19 June.
